spring 2020.

back in march of 2020, (@zoeellaa) organized a really special project - called ‘I N T E R  V I V O S’ - a collaborative self portrait series - where one person shoots a roll of film, winds it back up, and then ships it off to a former stranger they were randomly matched with. the second person then shoots over the roll - thus creating something so unique, so tangible, so special and raw and real - a portrayal of two people’s interpretation of the feelings they hold within themselves during this time…. meshed into one seamless body of work.

i had the pleasure of being matched with emilio (@_emiliomesa) a talented and gifted artist + visionary based in texas. we made art, even though miles apart - blindly creating something, together. something potent and powerful. something i know we will look back on, for years to come. something to remind us that even amidst it all, art and the power to come together and process and heal through making, still remains. 

so, here you have it!

a piece of me + emilio’s heart - meshed into one.

and thank you again, zoe - for orchestrating and organizing such a beautiful project.

feeling so grateful for you and your mind and your ability to cultivate a little community through all this uncertainty. 

and to emilio - i am very much looking forward to the day we can create irl ;) 

2024 edit: it’s funny to look back on this, because emilio and i have now been co-workers for the past 3, almost 4 years

- both working on the customer success and marketing team for pic-time. i am forever so grateful for the magical and meaningful way we were connected.
